At just 26 years old, Valentin Elias Renner has quickly emerged as an innovative voice in contemporary art. Renner’s creative journey began with a childhood fascination for maps and exploration, inspired by the legendary travels of Marco Polo. Growing up near the Alps, his early dreams of discovering new worlds laid the foundation for his artistic vision.

In 2018, during a transformative trip to Indonesia, Renner found inspiration on a small island where guests marked their hometowns on a map with strings. This simple act sparked an idea that would evolve into his unique medium: creating three-dimensional effects on two-dimensional surfaces using nails and threads. What began as a way to document his travels soon grew into large-scale, abstract works of striking depth and complexity.
