Gabriele La Teana
Gabriele La Teana is a contemporary Italian artist. His activity began in 2004 through street art and graffiti. The first technique he uses is spray paint on walls and trains which then develops into mixed media. His interdisciplinarity is a symptom of a continuous study of new media. The focus of his artistic research is on interiority and the human psyche. The analysis of contemporary society and its psychological problems leads the artist to an interpretation of reality translated into crudeness. Visually intense and brutal, Gabriele La Teana wants to represent a picture of contemporaneity.
“Each of this paintings shows single aspects of human personalities that emerges from different situations. The animal side, the more rational side, the childish one. The ambition we fuel as fire, the fear, what memories cause to our brain. All in a dialogue within different human beings, as if there was a therapy session running. This to help people understand, that even when there is a big problem, an issue and we think that we are the only one suffering, it's not true. Many other unfortunately had to face it and overcome it. If we talk more within us, as the canvas do in this show, we could overcome fear, we could success and solve our problems. All by empathizing with other human being, in this world of materialism and personal success only.”
This is what art should be and what Gabriele's art is all about.
